Ruhstaller Jamboree

Held twice a year at Ruhstaller Beer Farm in Dixon, California, the Jamboree brings musicians, families and campers together for several days of acoustic music, workshops, shared meals and informal jam sessions. People arrive with guitars, banjos, ukuleles and other instruments, with much of the experience unfolding naturally around campsites, picnic tables and evening campfires.

Set across more than 40 acres of working farmland, Ruhstaller is an important part of the story. The farm grows its own hops and maintains an agricultural ecosystem where crops, open fields and farm animals coexist with the brewery and the people who visit. Rather than simply serving as a venue, the land is woven into the experience.

For me, the Jamboree is as much about the people and the environment as the music. It is a recurring gathering shaped by community, agriculture and the small interactions that happen when people spend several days together on a working Northern California farm.
